NHL News: Senators’ Greig Suspended One Preseason Game and One Regular-Season Game for Cross-Checking

NEW YORK (Sept. 27, 2021) – Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig has been suspended for one preseason game and one regular-season game, without pay, for cross-checking Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois during NHL Preseason Game No. 7 in Winnipeg on Sunday, Sept. 26, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 10:29 of the second period. Greig was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Greig will forfeit $4,470.83. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
