Ohio State Buckeyes’ Women’s Volleyball: Murr Named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

Kylie Murr averaged 5.38 digs per set in two matches against the Irish. 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its weekly volleyball awards on Monday. Junior libero Kylie Murr was named Defensive Player of the Week following her performance against Notre Dame.  

Murr was the rock on the back line for Ohio State last weekend as the Buckeyes picked up a pair of wins against Notre Dame. Murr averaged 5.38 digs per set against the Irish, totaling a team-high 43 digs. She also averaged 1.50 assists per set.  

In Sunday’s match, Murr tallied a season-high 24 digs, surpassing the 20-dig plateau for the first time this season. She totaled 19 digs on Friday, the most she’s had this season in a three-set match. This season, Murr leads Ohio State in digs (159), averaging 4.68 per set, which ranks third in the Big Ten.
