NHL fines Tampa Bay’s Maroon for unsportsmanlike conduct

NEW YORK (May 25, 2021) – Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pat Maroon has been fined $3,879.31, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for unsportsmanlike conduct during Game 5 of the team’s First Round series in Sunrise, Fla., on Monday, May 24, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:45 of the third period. Maroon was assessed a 10-minute misconduct.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
