Columbus Crew SC visits CF Monterrey in 2nd Leg of CONCACAF Quarterfinals tonight at 8 on FS2

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC travels to face Liga MX side CF Monterrey in a 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Second Leg road contest tonight, Wednesday, May 5 [8:00 p.m. ET / FS2, TUDN]. The match is set to take place at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, Mexico.

Crew SC hosted CF Monterrey at Historic Crew Stadium last week (April 28) and head into Wednesday’s road contest tied 2-2 on aggregate score. CF Monterrey is a four-time Concacaf Champions League winner, having won the 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2019 editions of the tournament. At the domestic level, Monterrey has won Liga MX on five occasions (México 1986, Clausura 2003, Apertura 2009, Apertura 2010, Apertura 2019) and Copa MX three times (1991–92, Apertura 2017, 2019–20).

The winner of the two legs of the Quarterfinals will be determined by aggregate score, with road goals being the first tie-breaker. Should Crew SC advance to the Semifinals of the tournament, it would face the winner of the Quarterfinals matchup between Toronto FC (Canada) and Cruz Azul (Mexico) across two legs. Notably, the winner of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League will secure a berth in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
