NEW YORK/TORONTO (MAY 3, 2021) – ‘Bracketology’ marks its return to the NHL when early registration opens tonight at 7 p.m. ET for the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge™ presented by olive at NHL.com/Bracket. Fans worldwide can share their predictions for the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs and face off against friends, family, colleagues, hockey experts and fellow hockey fans. The eligible fan that finishes atop the leaderboard will win the chance to attend a 2022 NHL® event.

The bracket will open online at NHL.com/Bracket and via the NHL® App once the four Playoffs teams and seeds for each of the East, Central, and West Divisions have been determined. With the seeds for the North Division expected to be finalized at a later date, fans will still be able to complete their bracket based on all possible matchups. Brackets will be locked one minute before the first telecast of Round 1 of the 2021 Stanley Cup® Playoffs begins.

For the eighth straight year, fans can compete with friends and family in private leagues or with fellow hockey fans worldwide in public leagues. A leaderboard will allow fans to see how their brackets are performing compared to fellow competitors in their leagues as well as fans competing globally in the Bracket Challenge. Fans can share their brackets across social media channels with the official hashtag #NHLBracket.

The Grand Prize of the opportunity to attend a 2022 NHL event will be awarded to the eligible entrant who finishes at the top of the leaderboard in the Bracket Challenge. All prizes are subject to confirmation of eligibility and compliance with winner notification requirements, and tiebreaker rules apply in the event of a tie. There is no purchase necessary to participate in the Bracket Challenge. For Official Rules, visit NHL.com/Bracket_Rules.
