Minnesota Twins reinstate SS Andrelton Simmons from COVID IL

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated shortstop Andrelton Simmons from the COVID Injured List. Simmons, who missed the club’s last 10 games, is hitting .355 (11-for-31) with three doubles, and three RBI in 10 games this season. The 31-year-old will be in uniform for tonight’s game in Cleveland.

To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Nick Gordon. Gordon, who was recalled on Friday, did not appear in a game for the Twins and will remain with the team on the Taxi Squad.
