Minnesota Twins recall RHP Cody Stashak from alternate site

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Cody Stashak from the alternate training site in St. Paul. Stashak, who began the season with the Twins before being optioned on April 15, appeared in six games for Minnesota, posting a 7.20 ERA (5.0 IP, 4 ER) with two walks and 12 strikeouts (21.60 K/9.0 IP) during his first stint.

To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer to the alternate training site. Smeltzer appeared in relief yesterday afternoon vs. Pittsburgh, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing one unearned run with one hit, one walk and three strikeouts.
