LHP Guduan Reinstated from the IL and Added as 27th Man for Doubleheader

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated outfielder Stephen Piscotty from the paternity list and designated outfielder Ka’ai Tom for assignment, the club announced today. The A’s also reinstated left-handed pitcher Reymin Guduan from the injured list and added him as the 27th man for today’s doubleheader against Minnesota.

Piscotty was batting .250 with two home runs and four RBI in 11 games before he was placed on the paternity list on Friday. He put the A’s ahead with a lead-off home run in the third inning last Thursday night against Detorit and has homered in back-to-back games.

Tom made the A’s Opening Day roster after he was selected from the Cleveland organization in the 2020 Rule 5 draft. He hit .310 during the spring but was just 1-for-16 in nine games in his Major League debut.

Guduan was also on the A’s Opening Day roster but he allowed eight runs on nine hits and three walks in 2.2 innings over three relief appearances before he was placed on the injured list April 6 with a sprained left thumb.
