CLUB SNAPSHOTS
The Union Advance to CCL Quarter-Finals
The Union defeated Deportivo Saprissa 5-0 on aggregate
across two legs in the CCL Round of 16. After a chippy
1-0 victory in leg one, the Union left little to doubt in leg
two. Midfielder Jamiro Monteiro was involved in all four
of the goals for the Union as he contributed 2 goals and
2 assists. Kacper Przybylko scored his second goal of the
tournament while Fontana scored his first. The Union
will face Atlanta United FC on the road on April 27 and at
home on May 4.

More Union Debuts
Stuart Findlay and Jack McGlynn both made their
Philadelphia Union debuts in leg two of the Concacaf
Champions League. New signing, Findlay showed
composure as he was featured in the 67th minute to man
the defensive midlfied in place of Martinez. McGlynn, the
17 year old Homegrown, was substituted in for Flach in
the 68th minute. In his short time on the field, McGlynn
showed flashes of brilliance in a few build-up chances for
the Union.

MLS is Back
The Philadelphia Union open the season at #4 in the
2021 MLS Power Rankings and will look to build upon
their 2020 Supporters’ Shield season. Their run towards
the MLS Cup begins against the defending champions,
Columbus Crew SC. The Union continue to blend veteran
leadership with youth, as the five new Homegrowns begin
to earn time on the ptich. Key off-season additions will
look to contribute in the new season as well. The Union’s
record for opening weekend currently stands at 2-6-3.
