DALLAS – Senior Hope Trautwein has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Trautwein earns the honor for the ninth time in her career and second time this season (Feb. 15) after tossing the program’s first ever perfect game, an outing that marks the first time in Division I history that a perfect game has been pitched with every out being by strikeout.

The Pflugerville native went 7.0 IP allowing no runs, no hits, no walks, no balls put in play and 21 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Arkansas – Pine Bluff on Sunday. She finished the game with zero three-ball counts and only allowed three batters to get to a two-ball count. Trautwein now has three 21-strikeout games in her career and is the only pitcher in Division I history to have multiple 21-strikeout seven-inning outings.

Trautwein’s outing has received national publicity and even earned an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
