Twins get slugging 3B Josh Donaldson back from injured reserve

Waddell optioned to alternate training site

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated third baseman Josh Donaldson from the 10-day Injured List. Donaldson missed the Twins’ last 10 games with a mild right hamstring strain, an injury he suffered running the bases on Opening Day, April 1 at Milwaukee following his only at-bat of the 2021 season (a double).

To make room for Donaldson on the active roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell to the alternate training site in St. Paul. Waddell had his contract purchased on April 7 and appeared in two games for the Twins, on Thursday vs. Seattle and in the first game of today’s doubleheader, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings across the two outings.
