MLB and MLBPA issues weekly update on COVID-19 Testing Results

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today the latest COVID-19 testing results conducted under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan. The independent Utah laboratory has reported the following results during the past week:

Weekly Monitoring Testing:

  • 14,354 tests conducted, with 4 new positive tests (3 players and 1 staff member); a 0.03% positive rate.

Total Monitoring Testing To Date:

  • 87,105 tests conducted, with 21 total positive tests (15 players, 6 staff members); a 0.02% positive rate. Twelve (12) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.

Total Testing (Monitoring + Intake Testing):

  • 92,896 tests conducted, with 38 total positive tests (28 players, 10 staff members); a 0.04% positive rate. Nineteen (19) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive since the start of Intake Screening.
