MLB and MLBPA issues update on weekly COVID-19 Testing results

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today the latest COVID-19 testing results conducted under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan. The independent Utah laboratory has reported the following results during the past week:

Weekly Monitoring Testing:

  • 13,978 tests conducted, with 4 new positive tests (2 players and 2 staff members); a 0.03% positive rate.

Total Monitoring Testing To Date:

  • 72,751 tests conducted, with 17 total positive tests (12 players, 5 staff members); a 0.02% positive rate. Eleven (11) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.

Total Testing (Monitoring + Intake Testing):

78,227 tests conducted, with 33 total positive tests (25 players, 8 staff members); a 0.04% positive rate. Eighteen (18) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive since the start of Intake Screening.
