MLB, MLBPA issues update on weekly COVID testing results

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today the latest COVID-19 testing results conducted under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan. The independent Utah laboratory has reported the following results during the past week:

Weekly Monitoring Testing:

  • 14,845 tests conducted, with 1 new positive test (a player); a 0.007% positive rate.

Total Monitoring Testing To Date:

  • 58,773 tests conducted, with 13 total positive tests (10 players, 3 staff members); a 0.02% positive rate. Nine (9) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.

Total Testing (Monitoring + Intake Testing):

  • 64,192 tests conducted, with 29 total positive tests (23 players, 6 staff members); a 0.05% positive rate. Seventeen (17) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive since the start of Intake Screening.
