Flyer Senior Named For The Second Time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Dayton’s Jalen Crutcher has been recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for his performance during the 2020-21 season by being named First Team NABC All-District 4.  It is the second consecutive year Crutcher has earned the honor.

Crutcher was also named First Team All-Atlantic 10 last week.  He was fourth in scoring (18.1 points per game), sixth in assists (4.8 per game) and second in minutes (38.1 per game) in the league in 2020-21.  He was the only A-10 player in the top 10 in scoring and assists this year.  He joins Obi Toppin as the only UD’s men’s basketball players to be two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 selections.

The Memphis native was on the Cousy, Naismith, NABC and Wooden Award Watch Lists.  A four-year starter, he is second in career assists at Dayton (581), 16th in scoring (1,587) and fourth in minutes (4,059).

The All-District Teams were selected and voted upon by member coaches of the NABC.

Dayton was 14-9 this season.  The Flyers will play Memphis in the first round of the NIT Saturday at 12 noon ET.
