Michigan Athletics issues COVID-19 Testing Update

Below please find updated data for U-M Athletics related to student-athlete return-to-campus and COVID-19 testing through tests of this week, March 12

Latest testing updates as of March 12

Total individuals (student-athletes + coaches/ staff) tested between March 6-12: 5,713
Positive test results between March 6-12: Three (3 student-athletes, 0 staff)

Complete testing data since June 11 (as of March 12)

Student-athlete tests for COVID-19, to date (all tests): 62,066
Positive Tests: 299

Staff member tests: 21,628
Positive tests: 35

Total tests administered (student-athletes + coaches/ staff): 83,694
Positive tests: 334

Total PCR+ Percentage = 0.40%
Student-Athlete PCR+ Percentage = 0.48%

Please note that the overall number of tests and positive results will not necessarily equal the sum of this week’s update plus the figures give in prior weeks’ updates. This is due to the number and timing of surveillance tests being conducted, and reflective of the fact that some test results lag behind others.
