RICHMOND, Va. – VCU will be the No. 2 overall seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament, which will commence with first, second, quarterfinal and semifinal rounds March 3-6 at the Robins Center and Siegel Center. The 2021 A-10 Championship Game will be played on Sunday, March 14 at Dayton’s UD Arena.
The Rams will take on the winner of Thursday’s second round match-up between Dayton and Rhode Island on Friday, March 5 at 3:30 p.m. at the Siegel Center. The contest will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. VCU split a pair of games against Rhode Island, and the Black and Gold swept two contests with Dayton this season.
Should VCU win, it would advance to the semifinals on Saturday, March 6 at 9 p.m. at the Siegel Center.
Led by fourth-year Head Coach Mike Rhoades, VCU completed its regular season with a 17-6 overall mark, including 10-4 in A-10, play to finish a half game behind St. Bonaventure. The Rams were picked ninth in the league’s preseason poll.
VCU, which joined the A-10 in 2012-13, captured the conference tournament crown in 2015 over Dayton.
