Defenseman Gabriel Carlsson recalled from Taxi Squad by the Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Gabriel Carlsson from the taxi squad, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Carlsson, 24, has tallied 0-3-3 and eight penalty minutes in 23 career regular season NHL games, while also appearing in five career contests in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Selected by Columbus in the first round, 29th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft, he has added 6-24-30 and 44 penalty minutes in 144 AHL games with Cleveland, including 2-10-12 and 14 penalty minutes in 41 games in 2019-20.  He has yet to appear in a game with the Blue Jackets this season.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Nashville Predators.  Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.  The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Ohio and the FOX Sports Go app.  Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with the “Blue Jackets Live” pre-game show.  The game will also be broadcast on the Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station 97.1 The Fan.
