CBJ TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets are celebrating their 20th season as a member of the NHL in 2020-21.
  • The Blue Jackets picked up their first win of the season at Detroit on Monday after dropping a pair of games at Nashville (3-1, 5-2).
  • Tonight’s game is the fourth of four consecutive road games to open the season for Columbus, which hosts the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning in its home-opener on Thursday.
  • This season marks the second time in club history the Jackets have opened a campaign with multiple road games (2008-09:  two games – 5-4 OT win at Dallas and a 3-1 loss at Phoenix).
  • The Blue Jackets beat Detroit 3-2 on Monday after allowing the first goal of the game, while the club lost twice at Nashville on Jan. 14 and 16 despite taking 1-0 leads in both contests.
  • Columbus has killed off all eight opponent power play attempts this season.

  • Joonas Korpisalo picked up his first win of the season with 35 saves in Monday’s 3-2 win at Detroit and added an assist on Pierre-Luc Dubois’ game-winning goal in the third period.  He is 1-1-0 with a 2.04 GAA and .944 SV%, stopping 67-of-71 shots in two appearances.
  • C/LW Alexandre Texier has collected points in the past two games (2-1-3), including 1-1-2 at Nashville last Saturday.
  • Michael Del Zotto is riding a two-game point streak (0-3-3).
  • LW Boone Jenner scored the Blue Jackets’ first goal of the season last Thursday at Nashville and added an assist at Detroit on Monday to raise his career totals to 114-111-225 in 492 games as a Blue Jacket.  He has taken over sole position of fifth place on the club’s all-time goals list (was tied with David Vyborny) and is now tied for sixth place on the career points list with Brandon Dubinsky.
  • RW Oliver Bjorkstrand tallied 1-1-2 at Detroit on Monday and has now scored 15 goals in his last 20 regular season games.
  • Pierre-Luc Dubois scored his first goal of the season at Detroit on Monday and extended his consecutive games played streak to 237 consecutive games, trailing only Jason Chimera (243 from Oct. 9, 2005-Apr. 5, 2008) and R.J. Umberger (288 from Oct. 10, 2008-Jan. 10, 2012) for the longest streak in CBJ history.
