Columbus Blue Jackets open 20th Training Camp on Sunday, January 3 PRESENTED BY OHIOHEALTH

Players report for physicals on Sunday before taking the ice for the first time on Monday

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets begin preparations for their 20th National Hockey League season with the opening of training camp, presented by OhioHealth, on Sunday, January 3 as players report for physicals at McConnell Spine, Sport and Joint Center beginning at 8 a.m. 

The Blue Jackets’ training camp roster consists of 41 players (24 forwards, 13 defensemen, four goaltenders).  The club will conduct its first team on-ice practices on Monday, January 4 from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Nationwide Arena and will hold split practices as well as scrimmages from January 4-12.  All practice and scrimmage sessions for the 2020-21 season are closed to the public.

Columbus opens the regular season with a two-game series at the Nashville Predators on Thursday and Saturday, January 14 and 16.  The Blue Jackets will play their first home games of the season at Nationwide Arena on Thursday and Saturday, January 21 and 23 against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
