Cincinnati Bearcats sign 23 football players during Early Signing Period

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football team added 23 signees Wednesday, December 16, 2019, on the initial day of the NCAA’s early signing period, Head Coach Luke Fickell announced.

Football signing day is presented by Western & Southern.

The signing class, dubbed #CinCityPride21, features 13 defensive players, nine on offense and one special teamer, Australian punter Mason Fletcher (Melbourne, Australia) a former Aussie Rules Footballer who measures in a 6-7 and is a product of Prokick Australia, the same group who helped develop current UC standout James Smith (Wangaratta, Australia).

Overall, the class tops the American Athletic Conference according to 247Sports.com and ranks No. 34 in the Rivals.com listing, the best mark in school history, surpassing the No. 39 of the 2020 class last year.

Seven hometown heroes dot the class, including: Leroy Bowers (Princeton), Luke Collinsworth (East Central), Dontay Corleone (Colerain), Landon Fickell (Moeller), Mao Glynn II (Walnut Hills), Iesa Jarmon (La Salle) and Cameron Junior (Middletown).

UC added recruits from nine other states, including two each from Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania along with single signees from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.

Jack Dingle (Louisville, Kentucky/Trinity) is the third member of his family to don the red and black after father Nate played at UC from 1990-93 and his brother Jacob is a safety on the 2020 squad. Junior’s brother EJ IV played fullback for the Bearcats from 2012-14.
