Today’s California-Washington State game moved to 1:00 pm PST on FOX

SAN FRANCISCO – The kickoff time for the Cal-Washington State game scheduled to take place this Saturday, Dec. 12, has been moved to 1:00 p.m. PST. FOX will televise the contest from Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash.

Cal leads the all-time series against Washington State, 48-28-5, and was a 33-20 winner the last time the teams played in Berkeley on Nov. 9, 2019. Washington State has won the last two in Pullman since Cal pulled off a memorable 60-59 victory highlighted by Trevor Davis’ NCAA-record-tying two kickoff returns for touchdowns both in the third quarter on Oct. 4, 2014.

The 82nd all-time meeting between the teams will occur on the latest date in the calendar year ever with the previous mark Nov. 28, 1987, when the teams played to a 17-17 tie at the Coca-Cola Classic in Tokyo, Japan. The latest the teams have ever met in Pullman was a 31-28 Washington State win on Nov. 17, 1973.

Cal improved to 1-3 overall and in Pac-12 play after a 21-17 home victory Saturday over Oregon (No. 20 Coaches Poll, No. 21 AP, No. 23 CFP). The victory gave Cal a win over a top-20 team in each of the first four seasons under head coach Justin Wilcox.

Washington State fell to 1-2 overall and in the Pac-12 after a 38-13 road loss Sunday to USC (4-0, 4-0 Pac-12, No. 16 Coaches Poll, No. 17 AP, No. 20 CFP) at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Cougars were playing for the first time since a Nov. 14 home matchup with Oregon after each of their previously two scheduled games (Nov. 21 at Stanford, Nov. 27 vs. Washington) were canceled due to COVID-19.

The Pac-12 Championship Game will be a home-hosted model televised nationally by FOX and played on Friday, Dec. 18 (kickoff time TBD). Each of the league’s 10 teams not involved in the title tilt are scheduled play on Saturday, Dec. 19, with matchups and other details to be announced at a later date.

Fans will not be allowed to attend the Cal-Washington State game or any 2020 Cal home contests in person due to COVID-19.

Radio broadcasts of all Cal football games can be heard live on KGO 810 AM, the Cal Bears Sports Network powered by Learfield IMG College, Sirius XM satellite radio and CalBears.com via TuneIn.
