Gustavo Bou key player in New England Revolution 2020 drive to MLS Playoffs

Gustavo Bou New England Revolution Forward

Forward Gustavo Bou propelled the Revolution into the Eastern Conference Final with a brace against Orlando City SC on Sunday — his first multigoal outing since joining the club last season. Bou is only the second player
in club history to submit a double in a playoff game, joining Charlie Davies,
who hit the mark twice in the club’s run to MLS Cup in 2014:
REVOLUTION PLAYOFF HISTORY: TWO GOALS IN ONE GAME
Player Date Result
Gustavo Bou 11/29/20 at ORL W, 3-1
Charlie Davies 11/29/14 vs. NY T, 2-2
Charlie Davies 11/01/14 at CLB W, 4-2

Bou, whose three goals are second most among players in the 2020 MLS
Cup Playoffs, can tie Davies for most goals scored by a Revs player in a
single postseason with one more tally. Dating back to his arrival in New
England in July 2019, the Revolution are 10-0-6 across all competitions
when Bou scores.

Previously, Bou boosted the Revolution past the Montreal Impact in the
MLS Cup Playoffs Play-In Round with an iconic 95th-minute goal. ‘La Pantera’ has exhibited a flair for the dramatic since he joined the Revs on a
club-record transfer fee from Liga MX side Club Tijuana. He has scored
seven times in the 85th minute or later, helping the team to a 5-0-2 record
in those games. Combining regular season and postseason play, Bou is
tied for the league lead in game-winning goals despite missing five games
due to injury:
