Midfielder Carles Gil has been instrumental in New England’s run to the
Eastern Conference Final, contributing two goals and three assists through
the team’s first three playoff contests. Gil paces MLS in combined goals
and assists through the first three rounds of the postseason, with teammate Gustvao Bou tied for third. The duo have factored into all seven of
New England’s playoff goals:

2020 MLS PLAYOFFS LEADERS: GOALS + ASSISTS
Rank Player Club G + A
T-1. Carles Gil New England 5
T-1. Emmanuel Reynoso Minnesota 5
T-3. Gustavo Bou New England 4
T-3. Kevin Molino Minnesota 4

The 2019 MLS Newcomer of the Year scored his first career MLS Cup
Playoff goal in the Play-In Round win against Montreal – the highlight of a
masterful performance that also included team highs in shots on goal, key
passes, touches, and successful passes. Gil followed that up by assisting
both of the club’s goals in its 2-0 win against the Union in Round One —
becoming only the third player in club history to distribute multiple assists
in a playoff match (Jose Cancela, Chris Tierney) — and added another goal
and assist against Orlando on Sunday.

Having recorded three assists through three playoff games, Gil is one assist shy of tying the club record for most postseason assists despite owning only four appearances:
REVOLUTION ALL-TIME LEADERS: POSTSEASON ASSISTS
Rank Player Assists (Games Played)
T-1. Steve Ralston 4 (24)
T-1. Lee Nguyen 4 (10)
T-1. Jose Cancela 4 (10)
T-4. Carles Gil 3 (4)
T-4. Shalrie Joseph 3 (21)
T-4. Wolde Harris 3 (10)

Dating back to 2011 — when Opta began tracking key passes as a statistic — only two other Revolution players have registered at least eight in a
single game, while Gil has hit the mark four times since joining the club in
2019:
REVOLUTION ALL-TIME LEADERS: KEY PASSES IN A SINGLE GAME

  1. Carles Gil 7/10/20 vs. MTL 12
    T-2. Lee Nguyen 6/8/14 vs. NY 9

    T-2. Carles Gil 11/20/20 vs. MTL 9
  2. Carles Gil 6/30/19 vs. DC 8
Gil made only six appearances and four starts in the 2020 regular season,
missing significant time due to a foot injury that required midseason surgery on Aug. 4. regular season games.

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
